I think the reason Neil Postman is mentioned so little is because 1). The society is already a terminal case according to the symptoms he laid out; 2). It’s too easy to brush him off as a luddite. But there’s evidence that the elite actually put their money where Postman’s mouth is:

I was such a big fun of him that 6 years ago almost applied to NYU Media, Culture, and Communication Department for master program.
Just because he used to work there.
But it was crazy expensive to study there. The cost just made no sense
