I decided to subscribe to the Day One app for journaling. I had been using this app for over a decade, but I recently chose to pay for a premium membership. The previous "classic" version was not subscription-based, but since they no longer support that app, I decided to migrate all my entries to the subscription version. Sigh, I am not a fan of subscriptions.

This morning, the CEO of UnitedHealth was shot just a block away from my workplace by an assailant who specifically targeted him. There is increasing frustration regarding the terrible state of healthcare in the U.S. and how disconnected healthcare corporations seem to be from the concerns of the public. This sentiment is becoming more evident in comments on social media.
My blog’s WordPress instance got deleted. I backed up my posts but should've backed up the whole site. Lesson learned. Is this a sign that I should remodel the entire site or stop altogether? Maybe. Tell me 💫 ✨ universe!
I'm trying to recover from this cold/cough 😷 that's been plaguing me and most people this winter ❄️. I was better three days ago, but then it came back.

“Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines practiced every day.”
I enjoy this site because it reminds me of the early days of the Internet. I really miss the beginnings of Twitter and blogging. I remember the Xanga days when we could hand-code and customize our sites. Nowadays, social media feels like a chaotic mix of politics, advertising, negativity, and Elon Musk's antics.
Published updates are back. Yay! I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving 🦃! This year, 2024, is going by too fast. It’s a short work week.
Testing. Are updates not being published?
I believe humanity fears AI 🤖 because, as it currently stands, it mirrors our egos, which are shaped by our negative traits, insecurities, and fears. We need to elevate our consciousness before we reach the singularity. We have the potential to produce a utopia or create Skynet.

I love old books! 📚 I enjoy exploring independent and used bookstores throughout NYC and browsing their collections. Occasionally, I discover torn and old books that have been discarded. One of my favorite finds is a signed Truman Capote book 📕 lying there for me to find.

Well, that's the second pair of sunglasses 🕶️ I lost this month. I need to buy cheap sunglasses if they're becoming dispensable.
Hershey Chocolate 🍫 developed a process that allowed them to use less-than-fresh milk. It’s their trade secret (so American). The process produces butyric acid, which gives Hershey’s chocolate its unique flavor. Butyric acid makes Parmesan cheese smell and is responsible for the taste and smell of vomit 🤢. (An answer to a European asking why American Hershey’s chocolate tastes horrible).

I’m currently listening 👂 to this book 📕 by Callie Hart called “Quicksilver.” It’s a fantasy, and I usually don’t listen 🎧 to these types of books, but I’m willing to try and see what all the hype is about. So far, so good. The writing is pretty creative.
