Collected 1 bull, 6 cows, 6 calves from Melton Mowbray yesterday. 2 cows possibly in calf. I love them all but especially Zippy, the bull. Weighing in at around a tonne, he’s a gentle boy and loves attention.

Lots of livestock movement this week. The four Wagyu cows and their calves are going to market. Some of the other calves may be sold to another farmer. Lincoln Reds arrive at the weekend. All exciting. But I’ll be sad to see the calves go as I’ve built connections with them.

This is 39. I’ve known him since he was a few weeks old. He’s always been a sweetie who loves cuddles. He has the best eyelashes.
Another lamb requiring TLC today. Called him Luke. Will be in a pen with plenty of food for a little while.

This morning the calves were too busy snoozing to come running for their corn. I had to walk down the paddock and call for them, and it still took them a while! Mrs Sheepy was on it though. The handle on the new trug broke. So, all four now require some juggling when dispensing the food.
