It’s not fun having a conversation where you don’t actually learn anything new. This is a thing that’s common when you’ve thought deeply about a concept and the other party hasn’t done enough on said topic or how to ask questions that challenge your idea to make it even 1% better.
I find this experience draining afterwards because you’re left with the sole obligation to critique your stance. This is ideally a good exercise, putting your ideas to test. But there’s something incredibly fulfilling when that burden is shared and you leave the conversation with something to mull over.
I guess this is why people have groups bounded by the same thing. People who can ask objectively sound questions are rare and I need to find a way to fill that gap.
